The son of a senior Kinahan gang member in the UK has admitted to helping his father in a plot to build a secret store of weapons to trick authorities.
Jack Kavanagh (24) from Tamworth in England was extradited to the UK last month.
His father is Thomas "Bomber" Kavanagh who is currently in prison.
Mr Kavanagh appeared at the Old Bailey Court today, after being arrested in May last year at Malaga Airport, where he was planning to travel from Dubai to Turkey.
He appeared via video-link form Belmarsh prison today, where he plead guilty to two charges of conspiracy to possess a firearm and two offences of plotting to possess ammunition.
Mr Kavanagh was remanded in custody to be sentenced on December 4th.
His father, 57-year-old Thomas Kavanagh, was sentenced last month to six years in prison for orchestrating the plot.
He had hoped that by leading the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK to a buried stash of 11 "fearsome" weapons, he could influence his sentencing in a multimillion-pound drug smuggling case.
