A development plan for South Dublin has been officially adopted by members of the county council.
The plan, which runs from 2016 to 2022, will be used in determining all planning applications from June 12th.
Mayor Sarah Holland and the chief executive of South Dublin County Council have welcomed the adoption of the plan.
The preparation process has been ongoing since September 2014.
At the heart of the new plan are issues such as quality of life, prosperity, sustainability, health, social inclusion and climate change.
It also sets out guiding policies and objectives for the development of the county in terms of physical growth and renewal, economic, social and cultural activity.
More than 700 submissions were received from the general public and other stakeholders for the plan.
But the Council says the final plan will not be published until it takes effect on June 12th.
