Workers from South Korea left a joint industrial zone in North Korea this morning following months of military tensions.

The Kaesong complex had been a rare symbol of cooperation between the two rival nations. 

The South Korean government had said it had decided to pull its remaining 175 workers from the site after Pyongyang rejected its ultimatum to join formal negotiations on restarting the stalled operations.
