The father of Spain’s 17-year-old Euro 2024 her Lamine Yamal has reportedly been stabbed multiple times in an attack near Barcelona.
Mounir Nasraoui was rushed to hospital after the attack in a car park in Mataro, near the Catalan capital, Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reports.
Citing official but unnamed sources, the newspaper says his condition is serious but stable.
The paper also notes that arrests have been made.
A later report on sports website Relevo, also citing official sources, said Mr Nasraoui had been discharged from hospital.
Local police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Yamal set up Spain’s opening goal in their triumphant Euro 24 final against England in Berlin last month.
He is the youngest person to ever play for Spain or for his club Barcelona – making 50 appearances for the Catalan giants last year.
Yamal spent his early childhood years in Mataro.
