Concerns are growing over an Irish man who has been missing in Tenerife for three days. 

Ryan Cooney, aged 28, was last seen in the Paraiso de Sol apartment in the Playa de las Américas resort in Tenerife on Thursday morning. 

It is understood that Mr Cooney had travelled to Tenerife with several friends. 

Mr Cooney is five foot 11 inches tall and has dark hair. 

He also has two black eyes after being recently attacked, with the assailants stealing his money and his phone. 

Police in Tenerife have been notified and have his passport. 

His family has made an urgent request for help, while the Department of Foreign Affairs says it's providing consular assistance.
