Supporters have serenaded Irish kayaker Deirdre O’Callaghan with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday after her silver medal performance at the Special Olympics World Games.
The Dublin Special Olympian was celebrating her 42nd birthday as she won the medal in the 220m Kayaking event at Grunau Lake, just outside central Berlin.
The Special Olympics World Games are the world's largest inclusive sports event.
Special Olympics Ireland has sent a team of 73 athletes to this year’s games, supported by a 36-strong coaching and management team.
Team Ireland is competing in 12 sports at the event.
