Met Éireann has issued a status Yellow thunderstorm warning across Leinster and other Irish counties.
Issued only 10 minutes before it came into effect, the thunderstorm warning will last from 10am to 9pm in Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
There is also a warning for storms across Northern Ireland, putting the entire eastern coast of the island in the Yellow.
Met Éireann has warned of spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility throughout the day.

The early signs of a storm in the east began brewing yesterday in the west, with a status Orange warning in Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
There was also a status Yellow thunder warning in Cavan, Donegal, Longford and Connacht yesterday from 2pm to 9pm.

Funnel clouds also developed in Derry yesterday afternoon between Claudy and Drumahoe.
The sudden storm warning follows a long spell of sunny weather across Ireland, with the highest temperatures rising to 23 degrees in most counties last week.
