This week on Newstalk, we have teamed up with Concern Worldwide to support a very important cause. Across the globe, there are 79.5 million people who have been forced to flee their homes, because of conflict or persecution. This number is equivalent to the entire populations of Ireland, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. Walking is a means of escape, fuelled with fear people will walk days or weeks to find safety.
This World Peace Day, Concern Worldwide want you to show your support and ‘Step In Their Shoes’. Lace up your runners and walk 10,000 steps a day between September 21st and 27th. You can do it however and wherever you like; around the house, in the garden or out and about.
The money you raise through sponsorship will help fund their life-saving programmes in some of the world's poorest countries.
