St Stephen’s Green has been named one of the most tranquil destinations in the world.
A study from luxury travel website SpaSeekers puts the Dublin park up there with Budapest’s Thermal baths, Iceland's Blue Lagoon and the Botanic Gardens in Melbourne.
Eight of the world’s top 20 are in Europe according to the study, which searched for the word ‘relaxing’ in reviews of the attractions.
There are six different thermal baths and hot springs on the list, alongside nine parks and gardens.
The study finds that the Blue Lagoon has 4,050 mentions of the word ‘relaxing’ in its online reviews, while the Széchenyi Baths and Pool in Budapest has 3,581 and the Thermae Bath Spa in Bath in the UK has 3,457.
Stephen's Green has 1,104, putting it just behind the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools in New Zealand.
After Europe, North America boasts the most relaxing locations, according to the study – with eight destinations in the top 25.
