Met Éireann have extended their orange warning Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford to 7pm this evening.
While the weather warnings amid Storm Agnes were due to shift to yellow level this afternoon, Met Éireann has warned strong “severe and damaging” gusty winds are due to continue this evening.
Coastal flooding, difficult travel conditions, fallen trees and power outages are expected.
A status yellow warning is in place in Leinster, Munster and Galway until midnight.

Storm Agnes hit its peak on the Atlantic Ocean around 4am, according to Met Éireann, but counties in the south and south-east have reported flooding and damage.
A gust of 117km per hour was recorded on Sherkin Island around 4pm, while there were “red level" winds of 83kmh at Roches Point, according to meteorologists.

Cork Safety Alert reported a roof was detached from a building at Youghal Strand and emergency services are on the scene.
A lorry in Wexford was also reportedly overturned by winds in Wexford this afternoon, although the driver remains unharmed.
Flights have also been reportedly delayed at Dublin Airport due to weather conditions.

Dublin Airport said the airport is “open and operating as normal today”, but advised passengers to “check the status of specific flights directly with their airline and to allow sufficient time for their journey to the airport”.
Cork Safety Alert has urged people to remain indoors where possible and avoid driving as reports of fallen trees across the country flood in.
