Met Éireann forecaster Liz Coleman said people should avoid driving during tonight’s storm.
“It's going to be quite windy and wet, so I think people will just feel generally that they won't want to go outside because it is so miserable outside,” she said.
“But in terms of driving, when you're seeing a flooded road, it's best to avoid and not to try and go through because you don't have any perception of what the depth is going to be.”
According to Met Éireann, Storm Bert will "dominate" the weather into early next week.
