Nearly 59,000 students will receive their Leaving Cert results today, either online or at their schools.
The State Examinations Commission said the marks are broadly similar to last year.
This year's results are being released a day earlier than usual to allow for a faster appeals process.

Talks aimed at resolving the beef prices dispute continued into the early hours last night in Co Kildare.
Meat industry representatives, the Beef Plan Movement and farming organisations were locked in discussions at the Department of Agriculture from yesterday afternoon.
The Irish Farmers' Association said some progress had been made, with talks expected to reconvene either this coming Thursday or next Monday.

Rescue teams in Malaysia are now into their 10th day searching for missing Irish teen Nóra Quoirin.
There is still no trace of the 15-year-old, who has special needs, despite thorough searches of the holiday resort her and her family were staying in and the surrounding rainforest.
Police continue to treat the case as a missing person, while a reward of more than €10,000 is being offered for information on her whereabouts.

Tributes are being paid to a young woman who died after a debs in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
19-year-old Jessica Moore was a student in St Raphael’s College in Loughrea and was due to receive her Leaving Cert results today.
She was pronounced dead in Portiuncula University Hospital, and a post-mortem exam is due to take place today.

Flights have partially resumed at Hong Kong's international airport, after thousands of anti-government protesters brought it to a standstill yesterday.
All departures and arrivals were cancelled yesterday afternoon after an estimated 5,000 demonstrators descended on the airport.
Operations are resuming today, but dozens of flights have been cancelled as some disruption continues.
