An Australian photographer has captured an incredible night sky light show over Tasmania.
Aurora Australis is the southern hemisphere's version of our northern lights, which are sometimes visible from parts of Donegal.
They are caused by the collision of electrically charged particles released from the sun with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen.

The lights are seen around the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemispheres.
Also visible in the sky, the Milky Way and two meteors.
Down below, the blue streak in the sea in this photo is the bioluminescence glowing in the Tasmanian sea.
