Nicola Sturgeon has become Scotland's first female First Minister.
The new leader of the Scottish National Party won a formal vote among MSPs this afternoon to take over from Alex Salmond, who formally stepped down from the role yesterday.
Yesterday, he told colleagues at Holyrood his seven-and-a-half years in office had been 'the privilege of his life'.

Sturgeon said she had "big boots" to fill but emphasised that she would "wear them in her own way".
