Wintry showers are continuing across the eastern half of the country this evening. A weather warning from Met Eireann will remain in place for 12 counties including Dublin, Kilkenny, Meath, Donegal , Kerry and Tipperary. Snowfall of up to 8 centimetres is expected to fall there.
It has already led to hazardous driving conditions and delays to public transport services.
Motorists are being urged to drive with extreme care on the roads as dozens of crashes have already been reported.
There have also been delays to some flights at Dublin Airport.

This category is for weather conditions with "abnormally low temperatures, combined with strong winds". It says this will cause severe wind chill.
Scattered snow showers are to affect Leinster and eastern parts of Ulster and Munster for a time.
