The suspected gunman of the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, has been found dead.
Authorities said Robert Card (40) was found just before 1am Irish time and is believed to have shot himself.
He was found in by the Androscoggin River in Lisbon Falls, roughly a 20-minute drive from Lewiston.
Some 18 people were killed and 13 injured in mass shootings in a bowling alley and a restaurant on October 25th.
Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck said investigations will continue into Mr Card’s whereabouts in the past few days.
“There continues to be a lot of work that needs to be done here at the scene with the medical examiner's office,” he said.
“There's much more follow up to what happened.”
Sky US Correspondent said police are “focusing their attention on the river” and details are still emerging.
“A part of that river was where his car had been discovered,” he said.
State Governor Janet Mills said she was “breathing a sigh of relief” following Mr Card’s death.
“Robert Card is no longer a threat to anyone,” she said.
“I know that law enforcement continues to fully investigate all the facts so we can bring what closure we can to the victims and their families.”
