Part of Edinburgh Airport in Scotland was evacuated earlier following the discovery of a suspicious object.

Police were investigating after it was discovered on the top floor.

However, the airport says it was a false alarm and has now been stood down.

Some passengers had claimed they were removed from aircraft due to the security alert.
