A 36 year old woman in Sweden has made medical history by giving birth after receiving a womb transplant.

 

Both baby and mum are said to be doing well.

 

Doctors now hope the procedure can be used on thousands of women around the world in a few years' time.

 

 

Professor Mats Brannstrom, who led the transplant team, described the birth as a joyous moment.
