A swimming ban has been implemented at Killiney beach and Coliemore Harbour following the examination of bathing water samples there.
The samples taken on September 12th illustrate poor water quality in the area.
More water samples have been taken for testing but the prohibition notices are expected to stay in place until at least Tuesday.
Following consultation with the HSE, we have erected Bathing Prohibition notices at Coliemore Harbour & Killiney Beach.
These will remain in place until Tuesday, 20th of September at the earliest.

Dún-Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council says it will update the public on any further developments.
For now, sea swimmers can still use Dún Laoghaire's Beach Gardens and Forty Foot, both of which have 'excellent' water quality, according to test results.
Bathing water samples taken on the 12th of Sept indicated 'Excellent' results for all locations, with the exception of Killiney & Coliemore Harbour which are ‘POOR’.
A Bathing Water Prohibition Notice is in place at both. #SeaSwimming
