A UN source has told the AFP news agency that disarmament experts have begun disposing of the weapons at a location in Syria.

They're being destroyed as part of a UN deal brokered by Russia.

Meanwhile, it's reported that Iran has allowed the Syrian regime to station fighter jets on its territory to keep them safe from foreign attack.

The news outlet Spiegel Online says the revelation is contained in German Military Intelligence reports.
