Bray native Andrew Hozier-Byrne has yet another award to claim - 'Take me to Church' has just been named the year's most viral song by Spotify.

Perhaps no organisation is better equipped to sum up the year's listening habits than Spotify. The streaming service, which has over 50 million active users, today looked back on the 2014's top trends in music.

Some interesting occurrences include the suspiciously high popularity of 'chill out' at college campuses in Colorado, where cannabis was legalised in January.

Also, streaming levels in Brazil collapsed after the national team's humiliating 7 - 1 defeat to Germany in the World Cup Semi-finals, only recovering after a few gloomy hours.
