The Taoiseach has promised people will know in good time the difficult decisions that will be coming in the Budget.
Enda Kenny says the coalition is focused on developing the country and the economy.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) earlier this year forecast growth in Ireland of 0.6% this year and growth of 2.1% in 2013.
It said unemployment will hit 14.5% this year but will decrease slightly to 14.4% next year.
It says economic recovery here is expected to gain further momentum and inflation will remain low.
But it is warning that the adjustment would be aided by a rapid resolution of growing mortgage arrears.
Taoiseach Kenny says the scale and nature of the challenges we face in Budget 2013 will be spelled out to people.
He has also defended his Health Minister, James Reilly.
