The Justice Minister has tonight told the Dáil he's "sorry" if Mick Wallace thiniks he wronged him.
It's after Alan Shatter sensationally revealed on TV last week that the Wexford TD had benefitted from Garda discretion when it came to penalty points.
Minister Shatter told the Dáil that it was Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan that revealed to him the incident about Deputy Wallace.
But Alan Shatter insister there was "nothing sinister" in what he did and that he did not make any charge against Mick Wallace and only did what he did to "defend the integrity of An Garda Síochána".

But the explanation was not good enough for the Opposition.
Fianna Fáil's Justice spokesperson Niall Collins repeated his call on the Minister to resign
Mr Wallace himself addressed the Dáil debate and confirmed that he had lodged complains to the Standards in Public Office Commission and the Data Protection Commissioner.
Earlier Taoiseach Enda Kenny dismissed opposition party calls for the Justice Minister to resign.
"The situation is that the information was relevant to the argument being made by Deputy Wallace" he said.
