The Taoiseach has revealed that he has "spoken to" 2 of his Cabinet amid reports of serious tensions between them.

It comes after Dáil business this afternoon centred on a claim that the Education and Skills Minister Ruairi Quinn told a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party that Dr. James Reilly was not fit to be Minister for Health.

The Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin raised it on leaders questions, saying Minister Quinn was "fast becoming the poster boy for cynicism in the government".

"The key intervention was Minister Quinn's when he said 'that your sentiments are shared by your Cabinet colleagues, but we can't be seen to be looking for a head' " Micheál Martin added.

Minister's 'full confidence' in Reilly

Enda Kenny replied that he had a word with both Ministers.

"Let me inform you that I've spoken to both Minister Quinn and Minister Reilly - they are both absolutely at one of the job we have to do here and Minister Quinn has full confidence in Minister Reilly".

And the Taoiseach accused Micheál Martin of "spouting on" about motions of no confidence before challenging him to "put it down again and we will deal with it".
