The Taoiseach has told Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Ireland will show its support for his country in any way it can.
Micheál Martin held a 20-minute call with President Zelenskyy this evening.
He told him that the Irish people admire his leadership in the face of an immoral on the people of Ukraine and assured him that Ireland would show its support in any way it could.
He also noted that Ireland is fully behind Ukraine’s hopes of joining the EU.

President Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation for the support Ireland has already shown – including the ready acceptance of Ukrainian refugees, the St Patrick’s Day show of solidarity and the €20m in aid that has been sent.
He called on the Taoiseach to continue to put pressure on Russia to end the war.
President Zelenskyy also offered his sympathies to the family of Irish journalist Pierre Zakrzewski who was killed yesterday while reporting on the war in Ukraine.
