The Taoiseach says he is willing to listen to any suggestions from Senators about reforming the Seanad.

Enda Kenny has addressed the Upper House for the first time since the people rejected his plan to abolish it.

51.7% of the electorate voted against getting rid of the Seanad back on October 5th. The Taoiseach described the then-defeat as "a wallop".

While the Chair of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party Charlie Flanagan said neither the Taoiseach nor the party were to blame for the government losing the referendum.

And Fine Gael TD Eoghan Murphy has also previously said the party did not run 'the best campaign it could of'.

Despite running a campaign centred on a message that the Seanad was beyond reform, Mr. Kenny says he is willing to now give reform a go.
