Gardaí in Dublin are investigating the alleged assault of a taxi driver after a dashcam video of an apparent attack went viral on social media.
A video that has been shared hundreds of times on social media shows a passenger in a car repeatedly using a racial slur and attempting to punch a driver.
A timestamp on the video indicates it happened at around 9:30pm on Easter Sunday.
In a statement today, a Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Clontarf are investigating an incident of assault that occurred on the 21 April on the Malahide Road, Donnycarney, at approximately 10pm.
"A suspect in the case has presented themselves at a north Dublin Garda station and gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry."
They're asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Clontarf Garda Station on 01-666-4800 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
People are also being asked not to share the video, with gardaí adding that the suspect in the case is not a member of the force.
