People Before Profit TD Joan Collins has brought a High Court challenge to the government payment of promissory notes. The Dublin deputy is hoping to have her case heard before 25 million euros is paid out in late June.
She was one of five TDs who the Supreme Court refused to allow join a similar action against the payment of promissory notes.
As a non-politician businessman David Hall was told by the High Court he did not have the legal standing to take the case and he is still waiting for his appeal to be heard.
But Dublin Deputy Collins has stepped into the breach. Her barrister John Rogers indicated to the High Court they want the case dealt with as a matter of urgency.
That is because they want to stop the next €25 million promissory notes payment which is due to be made to EBS in the second half of June.
The case will come back to court next week.
