It has been confirmed that gardaí are proceeding with two investigations into alleged inappropriate behaviour at the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA). Enda Kenny told the Dáil that the allegations were being taken "very seriously indeed".
The investigations deal with different complaints raised against individuals who are both current and former staff members.
Sinn Féin finance spokesman Pearse Doherty says some of the income NAMA has already raised may now be open to question.
Earlier, an independent TD said there may be a need for an independent inquiry into the agency. It followed claims that a former employee at NAMA leaked classified information to international financiers.
The Irish Independent said the official has admitted leaking the information and a dossier is with the Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan and the Garda Fraud Squad.
Independent TD Stephen Donnelly told the Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk earlier that we need more transparency to be sure NAMA is not leaking anything in an improper way.
A Fianna Fáil Senator raised the issue in the Seanad yesterday.
Daragh O'Brien said he had come into the possession of the information, and asked for the Taoiseach, Finance Minister or Justice Minister to come in and explain what he says is the leaking of sensitive information.
