The ASTI and TUI teachers unions say they're not satisfied with the new public sector pay deal.

In a statement last night, they said the Haddington Road Agreement is almost identical to the Croke Park 2 proposals they rejected last month.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan says there will be no further talks - and that if the unions reject the deal - the Government will legislate for the cuts.

The TUI is one of the unions taking part in the 'No-2-Croke-Park-2' Rally in Dublin today.

Spokesperson Martin Marjoram says the unions must stand together against the agreement.

“We have other priorities for our rally, which include campaigning for a fair and equitable tax system to make up the deficits; building grassroots cooperation and strength across all public service unions, so we have real solidarity instead of unions arguing against each other, which is what seems to happen when its left to the leadership,” he said.
