 The three main teaching unions, the INTO, the ASTI and the TUI are threatening industrial action, if more changes to their pay and conditions are implemented by the Government.

The move follows the rejection this week of LRC proposals on a new deal by public service unions.

Teachers says they've been forced to consider strike action, and the three unions will ballot their members on it next month.
However they've moved to reassure the public that exam students will not be affected by any industrial action.

The President of the INTO Brendan O'Sullivan says teachers feel they have no choice.
