A 14-year-old boy has died in an e-scooter crash in Kilkenny yesterday. 

The crash involved a car and an e-scooter. It happened shortly before 6.30pm on the Tullaroan Road at Bonnettstown. 

The teenage boy was brought to hospital St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny where he has since passed away from his injuries. 

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination. 

No other injuries were reported. 

The road was closed for forensic examination and has since reopened. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. 

They are particularly interested in people with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time. 

The teenager is the third person to die following an e-scooter crash in two months.

On June 27th, two teenage boys died in a crash on the R680 Cork Road in Waterford city shortly before 2.10am.
