A 17-year-old has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a six-year-old boy was allegedly thrown from a balcony at a London museum.
The child was allegedly thrown from a viewing platform on the tenth floor of Tate Modern art gallery and is believed to have landed on a fifth floor roof.
The court heard he sustained a bleed on the brain and fractures to his spine, legs and arms.
He remains in a stable but critical condition in hospital with his family.
He is a French national and police said they do not believe there is any link between the suspect and the victim.
This morning, a 17-year-old appeared before Bromley Youth Court, charged with attempted murder.
He wore a grey jumper and spoke to confirm his name, address, date of birth and nationality as British at the short court hearing.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
