A 17-year-old boy has been remanded in detention after being charged with the murder of Melanie McCarthy-McNamara.
The 16-year-old was killed while she sat with friends in a parked car in Tallaght in Dublin on February 7th last.
The teenager in court today is the 2nd person charged with her murder.
He was brought before Tallaght Children’s Court today and will appear before the courts again next Tuesday.
A 23-year-old man was charged just 2 weeks after the shooting dead of the 16-year-old.
She died after a drive-by shooting at Brookview Way in Tallaght where a black SUV pulled up alongside and a gunman opened fire.
She was one of 3 passengers in the parked car.
It is believed the vehicle also contained the intended victim of the shooting.
