A teenage boy has been serious injured in a crash in County Cork.

Gardaí said the incident involving a truck and a car happened at around 1:55pm at Dunkerreen Cross in Innishannon.

Investigators said the teenager who was seriously injured was one of the occupants of the car.

The woman who was driving the car and another teenage boy received non-life threatening injuries.

All three were taken to Cork University Hospital along with the driver of the truck.

The road remains closed as Gardaí carry out a forensic investigation of the crash site.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Bandon Garda Station.
