A teenager has died in a car crash in Tipperary.

Gardaí said the single-vehicle accident happened on the junction at Dundrum village at around 6:10am yesterday.

A man in 30s and two teenage boys were in the car at the time of the crash.

All three were taken to University Hospital Limerick; however one of the teenage boys has since died.

The man remains in critical condition in hospital this morning.

The road was close or a time for a forensic investigation; however, it has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to drivers who were in the area between 5am and 6:30am and may have camera footage.
