A man has been arrested after a teenager was seriously injured following an alleged assault in Co Louth today.
Three men entered a house in the Castleross Estate Dundalk armed with what is understood to be a samurai sword at around 2.10pm this afternoon.
A young man, whose age is not yet known, was allegedly assaulted during what Gardaí believe was a row between the youths.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
His condition is currently described as stable.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently detained at Dundalk Garda Station.
A Garda spokesperson said no weapons have been recovered as yet and that investigations are ongoing.
