A teenager (17) has died and three others have been injured following a crash in County Cork.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the Mallow to Lisgriffin Road at around 4:15pm this afternoon.

One of the occupants of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The three others have been taken to hospital for treatment.

Their condition is not yet known.

The road at Lisgriffin is closed as a result while gardai examine the scene.
