A man aged in his late teens has been arrested following a stabbing in Dublin.
A second man (19) was seriously injured when he was stabbed a number of times outside the Dundrum Town Centre at 11.15 on Tuesday night.
The victim managed to escape he attacker and make his way into the cinema complex, where staff helped him. He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital, where he is still being treated for his injuries. He is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
Gardaí arrested a man this morning in the south Dublin area, after a technical examination of the scene was carried out.
He is being questioned at Blackrock garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, and can be held for a total of 24 hours (excluding rest periods).
The area where the young man was stabbed is near a taxi rank and would have been busy at the time of the attack. Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to contact Dundrum garda station or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111
