A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital following a serious assault last night in Dublin city centre.

The young man was stabbed following a row involving a number of men.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the assault which happened on Cuffe Street, dublins south inner city, at a quarter to eight last night A fight broke out between a number of men on Aungier Street and moved on to Cuffe Street .

One man received stab wounds to the upper leg and was taken to St. James' Hospital. Gardai say the man, who is in his late teens, is in a serious condition.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the gardai at Pearse Street.
