A man in his teens has been injured after a gunshot in Limerick city.

Gardaí are currently investigating a gunshot that took place last night in Weston, Limerick, which left one person injured.

The man, aged in his late teens, sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported to University Hospital Limerick.

He remains in stable condition.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area of Hyde Road, Ballinacurra area on Sunday evening between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

Any road users or pedestrians travelling in the area with camera footage during this time are also asked to contact Gardaí.
