A teenage boy who took part in an unprovoked attack on an American tourist in Dublin city centre will spend 20 months in detention for what he did.
The boy, who can't be named because of his young age, was one of three teenagers who attacked Stephen Termini on the night of the July 19th, 2023.
Passing sentence today, Judge Martin Nolan noted the boy already had a criminal record for violence and said, “He must suffer, hopefully to change.”
The other two boys have already been sentenced for their roles in the attack on Mr. Termini, who suffered bleeding to the brain, as well as multiple fractures.
In his victim impact statement, Mr Termini said he never saw the attack coming and continues to suffer physical and psychological injuries as a result of what they did.
