A teenager will appear in court today after an attack on Valentine’s Day in Cavan Town left a man seriously injured. 

The 17-year-old has been charged and will appear before a sitting of Monaghan District Court this morning. 

The injured man, who is in his 20s, was taken to Cavan General Hospital after the attack and later transferred to the Beaumont. 

A Garda investigation into the attack is ongoing.
