They have criticised the operator saying they got no information while they were stuck.

Engineers are checking the ride to find out why it malfunctioned.

The manager of Tramore Amusement and Leisure Park Limited, Frank King, says it is a new machine that was certified by an engineer only two weeks ago.

He is apologising to the families for their traumatic experience.

Members of the fire service were called to the scene in Tramore shortly after 7:30pm last night.

Garda John McDonald has been speaking to WLRFM.

A family who got stuck has criticised the fairground for way they handled the incident. Amanda Brewer and daughter Alicia (8) were among those trapped

She says it was extremely difficult to keep the children calm - particularly as they were not given any information about what was happening.

Amanda spoke to Today FM.
