The funeral of Deirdre Finn has heard how she was lively, vivacious and loved being a Garda.
The Dún Laoghaire detective was off-duty when she died in a boat fire in Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday.
Detective Garda Finn was an active member of the Garda Representative Association (GRA), and well-known amongst her Garda colleagues across the country.
Garda Finn's cap was placed on her coffin at St John the Evangelist Church in Ballinteer.
Her brother Cormac thanked people who travelled far and wide to attend her funeral service.
Chief Celebrant Fr Jim Caffery told the congregation that Deirdre was passionate about her job.
"When we went around to the house the other night, the first thing that struck me was the Garda cap on the coffin, as it is this morning," he said.
"Deirdre was a Guard to her fingertips and she loved being a Guard.
"Today it is an opportunity for all of us to say, 'Thanks for your service'" he added.
