‘That 70s Show’ actor Danny Masterson has been jailed for 30 years to life for raping two women.

The 47-year-old was handed the sentence after Los Angeles Superior Court heard from both of the women he has been convicted of raping in 2003.

He sat in his suit without a reaction as they spoke to the court.

“When you raped me, you stole from me,” said one of the women.

“That's what rape is, a theft of the spirit.

“You are pathetic, disturbed and completely violent. The world is better off with you in prison.”

The other woman said Masterson “has not shown an ounce of remorse for the pain he caused”.

Masterson was found guilty on two counts by majority decision on May 31st, with the jury unable to reach a verdict on a third count, allegedly involving another woman.

That came after a mistrial was declared in December 2022 after the jury failed to reach agreement on all counts.

He was sentenced yesterday after a defence motion for a new trial was rejected, with his lawyers trying to have the two convictions run concurrently at 15 years to life.

Prosecutors had argued that Masterson has used his position in the Church of Scientology to avoid consequences for his actions.

Both of his victims were also members of the organisation and have blamed it for their hesitancy in going to the police.

In a statement, the organisation insisted it, “has no policy prohibiting or discouraging members from reporting criminal conduct of anyone - Scientologists or not - to law enforcement”.

Masterson did not testify during the trial and his lawyers did not call any witnesses, with the defence arguing the acts were consensual.

The women said that Masterson gave them drinks that made them feel light-headed, before they passed out and he raped them.
