French gymnast who broke his leg dropped on stretcher on the way into the ambulance

Samir Ait Said suffered a horrendous leg break yesterday.

It appeared, at the time, that it could not get much worse for the French gymnast but that was before what came next. As he was being carried off, he was dropped by inept paramedics in what must have been excruciating pain as he was being bundled into the ambulance.

In what is another heartbreaking twist to an already sad story, the 26-year-old suffered the same injury in the build-up to the Olympics four years ago.

Over one million people attend anti-coup rally in Istanbul

The "Democracy and Martyrs' Rally" took place in Turkey's biggest city, Istanbul, today for a rally in protest against last month's attempted coup.

This rally is the climax of three weeks of nightly demonstrations organised by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan supporters around the country, in reaction to the coup on July 15th with result in the deaths of more than 270 people.

According to Reuters, banners at the rally read "You are a gift from God, Erdogan" or "Order us to die and we will do it". But it was also the first time in decades that major opposition parties joined a rally in support of the government.

Story of Syrian refugee Olympic swimmer saving 18 lives is truly inspiring

The Olympics, by its nature, is a series of athletic and mental battles between a number of different athletes from different sports and different countries.

Every four years, a number of incredible stories emerge of perseverance, mental strength and determination but few will ever outdo Yusra Mardini, who is competing for the Refugee Team.

Mardini was fleeing Syria along with 17 other people including her sister last year when the little boat the passengers were in had motor problems before the two sisters pushed the boat for three hours due to the fact that nobody else in the boat could swim.

Frank Ocean not dropping his new album this week may be the best career move ever

July 10th, 2012 - Frank Ocean releases his debut album, channel ORANGE, and the modern music industry is presented with a new prodigy.

However, on June 8th of that year, Frank Ocean had told everyone that his new album would be released on July 17th, purposefully giving a misleading date in order to counteract music piracy.

So when an Apple-sponsored live-stream appeared on Ocean's official website, with a date and timer set for the 1st of August, we should've been better prepared for the eventual disappointment.

Then an unconfirmed source told the New York Times that his sophomore album Boys Don't Cry would be released on August 5th, and on that date people checked on to the live-stream to find... Frank doing some DIY.
