Flight from Dublin to Norway makes emergency landing in Scotland

A flight from Dublin to Norway has been forced to make an emergency landing in Scotland.

The SAS flight to Oslo was forced to divert to Aberdeen this lunchtime.

It is understood the diversion was due to cabin pressure problems during the flight.

Kylemore Abbey sisters say the site is not for sale

The sisters who run Kylemore Abbey in Connemara say the site is not for sale.

The Benedictine Community says it has partnered with Notre Dame University in America to create a new academic centre of excellence at the former boarding school.

In a statement to clarify earlier reports of the school's sale, the sisters say the partnership aims to advance theirs' and Notre Dame's shared spiritual, cultural, and educational missions.

ESB employees evade USC through share loophole, says report

It's reported today that ESB employees do not have to pay the universal social charge on their company shares, under an agreement with the government.

The Sunday Business Post claims that the sweetheart deal reached in 2011 cost the State €10m in lost taxes in the space of one year.

24-year-old woman killed in Co Galway crash

A 24-year-old woman has been knocked down and killed in County Galway.

She was one of two people hit by a car just off the N17 in Aucloggeen, Claregalway shortly after midnight this morning.

The other pedestrian - a man in his 20s - was taken to University College Hospital Galway. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car escaped uninjured.

Yes Equality says No vote would hurt LGBT Irish at home and abroad

If Ireland votes No in the Marriage Referendum on the 22nd of May it will have a negative effect on the Irish LGBT community at home and abroad.

That's according to the Co-Director of Yes Equality, Grainne Healy, who was campaigning for a Yes vote in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin today.
