Gardaí are investigating after a 36 year old man died following an apparent stabbing in Dublin.

A woman in her mid forties has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Four people have died in separate road accidents across the country.

The four crashes happened in Counties Mayo, Meath and Tyrone.

The PSNI have arrested a man following one of the fatalities in Strabane.

The National Association of General Practitioners is to announce this afternoon whether or not it will recommend acceptance of the free GP scheme for under sixes.

The NAGP's National Council has been discussing the issue in Dublin today.

Last week, the HSE and the Irish Medical Organisation agreed the terms of the contract to be issued to GPs for the scheme.

The Association has previously opposed free GP care for under sixes - claiming that it increases inequality in the health system.

The government are facing fresh calls for a referendum to repeal the 8th amendment.

It's after a Millward Brown opinion poll in today's Sunday Independent found 63 per cent of people support the right to abortion in cases of fatal foetal abnormality.

While some 60 per cent say abortion should be allowed in the case where the mother is suicidal.

Leo Varadkar says voting YES for marriage equality will not weaken the institution of marriage.

The Health Minister says this has been proven over the years, as legal changed to marriage have been implemented.
