Gardaí are working to identify a man whose body was found on the banks of a lake in Cavan yesterday.

The remains were discovered near an area being searched for a missing Dublin man.

Investigations have been launched into a gas explosion in Dublin which injured two men.

The incident on the Knocklyon road in South Dublin occurred last evening when a gas mains caught fire.

Emergency services remained on the scene for several hours as the blaze was brought under control.

The DSPCA wants to bring an end to mass breeding which takes place on puppy farms and says pet lovers should look elsewhere for their dogs.

It's also claiming that up to half of the animals for sale online originate from puppy farms.

A study claims less than a sixth of the world's electrical waste was properly recycled or reused last year.

According to the report by the United Nations University, there was nearly 42,000,000 tonnes of it in 2014 - ranging from washing machines to mobile phones.

Just 6,500,000 tonnes was treated in the way it should have been.
